The Accountant will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for RightCom’s operations in the anglophone market. Working closely with the CFO and country managers, this role ensures financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting in a fast-growing, multi-country tech environment.
The accountant’s primary responsibility is to ensure the reliability and traceability of the company’s financial information.
Responsabilities
- Financial Management & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Process and reconcile monthly bank statements and financial transactions
- Ensure timely invoicing to clients and follow-up on outstanding payments
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Produce management reports and financial dashboards for the CFO and country leadership
- Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on budget vs. Actuals
- Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations
- Prepare and file statutory returns within deadlines
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management accordingly
- Maintain compliance with IFRS standards across all financial records
- Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Track departmental expenditures against approved budgets
- Assist in pricing models, cost analysis, and profitability assessments for new contracts
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Implement and maintain internal control procedures and financial policies
- Identify and flag risks related to financial operations or compliance
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience in Ghana or Nigeria
- Proven experience with local tax regulations (GRA, FIRS) and statutory compliance
- Familiarity with IFRS financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software: QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP/cloud tools
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling)
- Knowledge of Ghanaian and/or Nigerian payroll systems and labor law
- Fluent English is mandatory
- French proficiency is a valued
- Strong communication skills – ability to present financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders
