The Finance Manager is a position based in Accra, Ghana. You will oversee the financial health and administrative backbone of our hybrid operations spread across three countries (Ghana, Nigeria, and Mauritius) with a team of internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for complex revenue recognition, cap table management, investor reporting, and corporate compliance. Your goal is to ensure that our four revenue streams are tracked accurately and that our holding company and opcos remain in perfect standing as we scale.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting

  • Lead the full month-end close process.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, payroll, and adjustments.
  • Analyze financial results and ensure completeness and accuracy of transactions.
  • Prepare departmental financial reports (Actual vs Budget).
  • Review financial performance with department heads and recommend cost control measures.
  • Maintain annual budgets and projections within our accounting software.

2. Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Prepare and submit daily cash position reports, including projected payroll and auto-payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Monitor cash availability and credit lines.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable postings to ensure accurate cash flow projections.
  • Monitor SaaS sales and reconcile deposits to bank activity.
  • Maintain accurate records for all cash-related transactions.

3. Accounts Receivable & Customer Invoicing

  • Oversee daily shipment reconciliation between the various systems and operations.
  • Ensure all invoices are posted accurately in our accounting software.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific invoicing requirements.
  • Monitor internal accounts and send statements to ensure timely collections.

4. Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

  • Ensure all vendor invoices are supported by proper documentation (POs, packing slips, approvals, serial numbers).
  • Maintain accurate records in our accounting software.
  • Reconcile vendor statements monthly.
  • Prepare and manage monthly payment runs based on due dates and operational priorities.
  • Obtain executive approval for payments above the threshold.
  • Maintain organized records of proof of payments and vendor confirmations.

5. Tax & Regulatory Compliance

Monthly/Quarterly:

  • Prepare and file sales/purchase tax returns.
  • Reconcile sales/purchase tax collected by territory.
  • Prepare and file other statutory returns.

Bi-annual:

  • Prepare and file statutory tax returns.

Annual:

  • Prepare and file annual returns.
  • Coordinate with tax preparers for year-end financial reporting.
  • Prepare and file WHT on rent payments.
  • Prepare and file tax returns.

6. Inventory Accounting

  • Retrieve and document month-end inventory reports from various warehouses.
  • Prepare inventory reports by category.
  • Distribute inventory reporting to executive leadership and relevant departments.

7. Payroll Administration

  • Process monthly payroll.
  • Maintain payroll tracking for reimbursements and deductions.
  • Obtain executive approval prior to payroll submission.
  • Post payroll journal entries
  • Reconcile payroll reports with our accounting software.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll reporting requirements.
  • Provide employment verifications and payroll documentation.

8. Corporate Governance & Equity  

  • Management Accounts: Coordination with the Group CFO on reporting
  • Cap Table Management: Maintain the company’s capitalization table, including the tracking of vested/unvested ESOPs and accounting for share purchase agreement.
  • Compliance: Own the annual filing requirements, local and regulatory tax payments for our holding and opcos assigned.
  • Investor Relations: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial “flash reports” for our board and investors, focusing on revenue stream performance, runway, customer profitability, and actual vs budget.

9. Transversal Administration & Legal  

  • Contract Management: Review and organize customer contracts to ensure that billing cycles for Hardware and PS align with the financial triggers defined in the Statement of Work (SOW) as well as SaaS and MS contracts are renewed timely.
  • Cross-Border Logistics: Manage the administrative side of international operations, including tax implications for cross-border sales or purchases.

10. Process & Systems (Project Management)  

  • ERP Implementation: Lead the project to integrate our CRM (Sales) with our accounting software to automate the billing of hardware shipments and SaaS subscriptions.
  • Audit Readiness: Establish internal controls and documentation standards so the company is “due diligence ready” for future funding rounds or Revenue Authority/Social Security Services audits

Qualifications 

  • BSc. Accounting from a recognised University
  • Chartered Accountant and a member of any of the professional bodies such as ICA, ACCA, CIMA is an added advantage
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Financial accuracy and attention to detail
  • Very good knowledge of the IFRS is a must
  • Experience working for B2B institutions or technology service provider
  • Hungry, driven to succeed.
  • Track record of pro-active leadership capabilities in B2B environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet quota requirements and deadlines
  • Superior relationship management and communication skills are required
  • Able to travel to Nigeria or Mauritius when required.
